To reforge means to forge something making it new again. The process of reforging an object isn’t easy. It takes extreme heat and hammering, putting the object in complete distress before it can be made anew. Reforging happens to objects that have been broken or damaged and the process of reforging is meant to make them stronger, more resilient, and beautiful again.

Only things that have value and purpose are reforged. Things such as jewelry, tools, and metal objects. You don’t keep things that don’t have meaning or serve a purpose and you certainly don’t recreate them. You would never reforge an old diamond brooch in to new beautiful piece of jewelry unless it had value and meaning. You reforged it because you wanted to keep it.

What does it mean to have a reforged heart? It means that regardless, of the adversity life has put you through, you are valuable and you have a purpose. Being reforged means that you are no longer damaged or broken, you have been made into someone new, someone that is stronger, more resilient, and more beautiful. It means that you went through extreme adversity, your heart has been broken, and your spirit has been weak but but your came out stronger and better.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

It doesn’t mean that the pieces of your broken heart aren’t still there, they are. It means that all your brokenness has been reforged into something new, beautiful, with meaning and purpose. The beauty of the new you, helps you recover from the emotional wounds of the old you. It gives you hope.
